OVERVIEW
Hear how to treat AI as a strategic growth issue, not a tech project — with real examples of what works and what doesn't.

Part of the AI Sprint: six weeks of events across Guernsey, 1 October to 12 November 2026.

What this session is

Session 1 of IoD Guernsey's three-part series, "Better Directors in an Age of AI" — its contribution to the Sprint and the runway to the Economic Growth Conference on 18 November. AI is no longer an IT experiment; it's a primary driver of commercial growth, productivity and market competitiveness. This executive session confronts the fundamental question boards now face: if we were building our organisation today, what would we do differently?

Examining AI strictly through the lens of strategy, business model transformation and board oversight, the session explores how leading organisations are leveraging AI for tangible advantage, the real-world challenges of adoption, and the direct implications for Guernsey's economy.

This panel will be moderated by Glen Tonks, Chair of IoD

Panelists

  • Rob Newton — CEO, Gravity
  • Andy Mills — Chief Operating Officer, Vega Technologies
