Working with Microsoft Copilot

Part of the AI Sprint: six weeks of events across Guernsey, 1 October to 12 November 2026.

What this session is

This is a practical, hands-on workshop, not a talk. Rory Steel from BDO will walk you through Microsoft Copilot in a live working session — no slides-only theory, just real tools and real tasks. Bring a laptop and be ready to try things out as you go.

Who it's for: Anyone who uses Microsoft 365 day-to-day and wants to get more out of it with AI. Particularly useful if your organisation already has (or is considering) Copilot licences.

You'll leave with:

• Confidence using Copilot inside the Microsoft tools you already work in daily
• A set of practical prompts you can apply to your own work immediately
• A clearer view of what Copilot can (and can't) do well, so you know where to start

What to bring or prepare: Laptop needed with Copilot licsense for a hands-on session

About the host

BDO in Guernsey provides audit, tax and advisory services, and works alongside sister company C5 Alliance, the Channel Islands' largest IT transformation and technology provider, now based with us at Plaza House. We see AI as a business and governance question as much as a technical one, and we're pleased to host AI Sprint events in our Hub and support an island-wide, practical conversation.

About the AI Sprint

The Guernsey AI Sprint is an island-wide programme, led by the G8, bringing together businesses, organisations, and individuals to explore, learn, and act on artificial intelligence. From October 1st to November 12th, we'll run workshops, talks, hackathons, and hands-on challenges designed to move Guernsey from AI curiosity to AI confidence.

Whatever your starting point, there is something on the programme for you.
